What stays on your device
Case titles, amounts, notes, action records, contact logs, selected evidence and extracted image text are stored locally in the app. The app has no publisher-operated case server, remote AI processing, advertising SDK or behavioral analytics SDK. Image text recognition uses Apple's on-device Vision framework.
Files use iOS data protection. Optional Face ID or device-passcode authentication adds a case-access gate; biometric templates are managed by iOS, not collected by ScamFolio. No device or app can promise absolute security.
Permissions and purchases
You choose photos and files through system pickers. Optional notification permission enables generic local reminders without case details. You can change notification permission in iOS Settings. Apple processes purchases and provides verified entitlement information to the app; we do not receive your payment-card number.
Apple and your device settings govern any diagnostic information or aggregated App Store reports made available to developers. These are separate from ScamFolio's local case records.
When information leaves
Exports include the case title, amount, summary and action record. Evidence notes and contacts are excluded by default. Original files require a separate selection and may include location, names or other embedded metadata. The app does not automatically redact originals. Review the preview and intended recipient before sharing.
Sharing sends selected material to the app or destination you choose. Copies cannot be recalled by ScamFolio. Opening official resource links also connects you to independent websites governed by their own privacy policies. The app does not submit reports or contact financial institutions automatically.
Retention, deletion and backups
Case records remain on the device until you delete them or remove the app. Case storage is excluded from device backups: losing a phone, uninstalling the app or losing access to local storage can permanently lose records. Export records you need to retain and protect those copies.
Deleting a case removes its local records and queues its evidence files for deletion. Interrupted file cleanup is retried on launch. Temporary exports are cleaned after sharing and again on launch. An error, device fault or externally saved copy can prevent complete removal; the app cannot delete recipient copies or guarantee forensic erasure.
This website and support email
This site has no case-upload form, account system, advertising pixel or analytics code. Hosting providers process ordinary connection information such as IP addresses, request paths and browser information to deliver and secure pages. Fontshare supplies the website fonts and receives the connection information needed to deliver them.
If you email support, we receive your email address and the information you send, and use it to respond, maintain the service and meet applicable legal obligations. Our email provider processes that correspondence. Do not send evidence, bank details, identity documents, passwords or sign-in codes. Support correspondence is retained only as reasonably needed for those purposes; contact us to request access, correction or deletion, subject to applicable retention obligations.
Your choices and questions
We do not sell case information or use it for targeted advertising. We cannot access or recover cases stored only on your device. The service is intended for adults and general US use, not directed to children under 18.
